Dream Themes for the Holidays

I couldn’t be more excited to share tonight’s episode of Celebrity Holiday Homes with you at 8pm ET/PT on HGTV! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the design plan I came up with for The Baskett Family. I thought a lot about who they are as a family as I chose the elements and I had a blast putting them all together into one cohesive look.

Choosing a specific theme for your holiday décor can be a great way to shake things up from year-to-year. While I love traditional trimmings, it can be fun to push the boundaries and tell a personalized story with your decorations. A little late, but after being away from home for a couple of weeks (thankfully pleasure, not business) I finally got to catch the recording of HGTV's Celebrity Holiday Homes — and of course the great design role you played in turning Kendra and Hank Baskett's home into a holiday wonderland.

Daunting indeed was that 13' tall ceiling of the Blue Room, but you magically transformed it into a "so glad to be home for the holidays" Christmas extravanganza with a beautiful snow white tree thoughtfully set off by bold chartreuse and midnight blue globes, then finished just right with the glitz and glamour of mirrored disco balls.

Just what was needed to get me into the Christmas spirit — and in the St. Nick of time!
