Your Exclusive Sneak Peek at Celebrity Holiday Homes

Kendra Wilkinson and Laurie MarchPhoto:

Happy Holidays, friends! I couldn’t be more excited for the season, especially since one week from today (12/13) my segment on Celebrity Holiday Homes airs at 8pm on HGTV! I was thrilled to be asked to decorate Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and Hank Baskett’s stunning California home. I knew that a beautiful, fun family like the Basketts needed holiday décor that was as sparkly and warm as they are everyday. Most of all, I wanted their home to feel unique.  So while I found plenty of crafting to do on my own (more on that later), I also scoured the entire country for fabulous designers and small businesses offering some distinctive pieces. Here’s a sneak peak at some of my favorite finds.

Décor for your Dog

Santa comes to all shapes and species and dogs are no exception! These beautiful burlap and muslin stockings are made in San Francisco by ChristmasClaude. Choose from one of Claude’s handmade burlap bows and ribbons or customize your bone, like we did. It’s an understated way to include your furry friend in the festivities and their simple design will seamlessly complement any holiday theme or scheme you’re already rocking in your home. They’re also a perfect gift for any pet lover.

Eco-Friendly Elegance

These fancy icicles are actually cleverly crafted from recycled soda bottles in upstate New York! Serendipitous makings offers these very affordable pieces of shimmer, which complement the glimmer of holiday lights perfectly. Best of all, something that would normally end up in a landfill has been transformed into something that will make your days merry and bright for years to come. They’ll make an interesting, icy addition to your tree, garland or wreaths.

Bring in the Bling

The only thing I like more than delicious dessert is a dessert served to me on a glamorous tray. Practically A Princess hand makes these stunning, sparkling cake sticks and stands in Indiana. There is nothing they can’t bling. Their refined, upscale look will add a touch of class to any type of holiday party. So check out some of their gorgeous items to use in your tablescape and turn up the twinkle this year! Perfect for New Year’s Eve, too!

Sparkling Seybert Stockings

I’ve been a fan of the Kim Seybert label for quite some time so I jumped at the chance to include their jaw-droppingly beautiful beaded stockings in my design plan. Kendra, Hank and Hank, Jr. will have a field day finding out what presents have been stashed in these stunners. If you’re in the market to treat yourself or a fabulous host to some high style this holiday season, browse through all of their amazing pieces designed to make all occasions feel special.

Okay, that’s all you get for now, but there are plenty of craft projects, design tips and holiday cheer to come. Check back here for more behind the scenes and please watch or record Celebrity Holiday Homes next Friday on HGTV!

Thanks for an enticing sneak peek of Celebrity Holiday Homes, on HGTV Friday, Dec 13 at 8 pm. I've set to record the excitement of Christmastime — just to be sure I don't miss a minute!

Two of my season favorites already are the eco-friendly icicles — cool and classy, and the sparkling Seybert beaded stockings are glitzy, golden and glamorous. Terri went for (surprise!) the ChristmasClaude burlap and muslin dog bone stockings.

Looking forward to your Celebrity Holiday Homes extravaganza.

Thank you so much! It means so much to me that you'll be out there watching.

The icicles (boy thats a hard word to spell!) are so beautiful. They made that navy tree pop! The Kim Seybert stockings were a bit of a show stealer :)

The gal that makes the dog stockings was as nice as can be, and the stockings are perfect for all the dog lovers out there :)

      Thanks again!

  2. Eugenia27 says:

No surprise on Terri's choice. I also like the eco-friendly icicles, also no surprise. It will be interesting at the surprises we will find on the Celebrity Holiday Homes.

  3. Lessie says:

Nice. Surely you enjoy your work!

      Lessie –

Working with people on their homes is truly a dream. I wake up excited to do it every day! It's so amazing to try out things like Celebrity Holiday Home for the fantasy – big scale, huge ideas, I let my imagination run wild on this one…

I think the show will be a smashing success.
If you need a good recipe for home made dog cookies, let me know.
    I'll be happy to share.

      WCG –

Hooray! I'd love your recipe. Emailing you later today.

I love seeing your name pop up here. Every time, I think of wind chime sounds. :)

  5. TwoCorgis says:

Thanks for the preview, Laurie! I love those icicles, and the blinged-out chocolate. I also like the doggy decor. I can't wait to see this show!

    • Laurie_March says:

      Thank you!!!

You know I couldn't let the design happen without a little Dog Love…

my poodle Newton approved of the stockings, so I knew they'd be a hit.

  6. Wind Chime Girl says:

    Hey Miss Laurie,
I posted yesterday but mistakenly gave my email address for you to contact me for a great Dog Cookie recipe.
So sorry that you won't get it, but your ideas for this house are going to be a winner.
Wishing you great success in your launch.

    • Laurie_March says:

      Don't worry! I see it.

Sometimes things get a little crazy and it takes a little longer to get comments approved on my blog. There's enough spam postings here to choke a horse – and I hate seeing spam anywhere on a good blog. It takes you right out of the experience!

      Thank you so much.

      • Wind Chime Girl says:

Laurie, I didn't realize you guys got so much spam, and probably a lot of other things. I'm sure your people advised you against contacting any of us personally, I understand.
You can probably find good recipes on line.
Just remember: don't make them on a humid day (they have to dry thoroughly); they have a short shelf life (5 to 10 days); they can be refrigerated or frozen.
        Good luck.
And we'll be watching your debut tomorrow.

You're always welcome here, recipes and all! I love seeing your name pop up in this blog, and I hope you'll keep posting :)

          Stay warm!

Hi Laurie! What a lovely display! I watched your segment twice so I could see everything that I missed the first time. You looked as though you have done this a thousand times and were so poised and confident! I bet you had a blast! I love love the disco ball theme with all those shiny and cute smaller disco balls! Excellent idea! You surely know how to read someone's taste and you did a superb job with Kendra and Hank's!

Have a very Merry Christmas Laurie, and see ya at the cabin for lots of fun to come!

    <3 Jill
