How many fewer colds and flus per year would kids get if they were self-motivated to wash their hands? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hand washing is the single best way to stave off germs, so the challenge is to incentivize regular visits to the bathroom sink. This just may be the basin to do just that.

Your secondary bathroom may not be this big, but you get the idea: fun and colorful.

Laufen’s Florakids collection includes this flower-shaped wash basin, which is playfully shaped and colored, but also smartly designed. The rounded shapes and edges create a safer bathroom environment, and the single-lever faucet makes it easier to regulate water temperatures.

Other options in this kid-friendly product line include caterpillar mirrors and cloud shelving. It may not impress your teenagers, but it’ll keep your ten and under crowd washed and ready for the next flu season.
